Day 1: St. Petersburg
Transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Day 2: St. Petersburg
Start your day with a city tour including the Grand Choral Synagogue featuring the private Cantor or Klezmer music concert. Tour the Peter and Paul Fortress, the oldest building in the city. Walk around the territory of the Fortress; visit the Peter and Paul Cathedral, the burial place of The Romanov family, and the former political prison of Tsarist Russia used for political prisoners. Rebbe Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder and the first Rebbe of Chabad, was one of them. [B]
Day 3: St. Petersburg
Visit famous Hermitage Museum, the former home of tsars that contains a collection of more than three million works of art and artifacts from all over the world. The guide will make an emphasis on the art pieces associated with Jewish history and culture. [B]
Day 4: St. Petersburg
Visit the extravagant Tsar Village, a summer residence of the Russian Emperors with its beautiful pavilions, lakes, gardens and the stunning Catherine Palace built by Peter the Great for his wife. On your way to the Tsar Village, stop at the “Formula of Sorrow”, a memorial dedicated to the victims of the holocaust. [B]
Day 5: St. Petersburg - Moscow
In the morning, visit a special exhibition “History and culture of the Jewish people on the territory of Russia” at the Museum of Ethnography. In the afternoon, transfer to the railway station and take a high-speed train to St. Petersburg. Transfer to your hotel in St. Petersburg. [B]
Day 6: Moscow
Start your day with a panoramic city tour of Moscow including a visit to the Holocaust Memorial Synagogue and Museum, located on Poklonnaya Hill. In the afternoon, continue your city tour and visit the Choral Synagogue, the main synagogue in Russia and in the former Soviet Union built in 1886. [B]
Day 7: Moscow
Enjoy the world famous Kremlin with its 15th century cathedrals, bell-tower, Patriarch’s Palace, Grand Kremlin Palace and the Armoury Museum, one of the oldest museums in Moscow and home to the Russian Diamond Fund. In the afternoon, visit the famous Tretyakov Gallery, the national treasury of Russian fine art and one of the greatest museums in the world. Enjoy a special excursion “Jewish Artists in Russian Art”. [B]
Day 8: Moscow
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. [B]
